September 2011

Wow-Time is flying-I can't believe it is already the end of September-I have been having some computer problems and have been having trouble with my camera and pictures so it has taken me sometime to post.

Cole is 10 1/2 months and taking a few steps and standing really well-I can't believe he is going to be a year soon. He is so strong it is unreal-he has starting climbing on everything, he is still taking 2 naps a day and sleeping well at night other then that fact that he likes to wake up every morning at 5:15am-not my best time of the moring-but he will usually play in his brib till 6am or a little after. Cole is one of the sweetest babies I have ever seen-always smiling, loves to cuddle and you can't help but feel good when you are around him.

Duke is 2 years and almost 4 months-he is talking a ton and his vocabulary has gotten really great. He loves doing puzzles, playing with playdough and reading (well he likes pointing to all the pictures and saying what they are), he is non-stop and keep me busy. He is such a great older brother to Cole and loves playing with him and always wants to go with me to get him up from his naps. They enjoy playing together in their cribs and crack eachother up all day long. I love watching them together and am so happy for them to have eachother and makes me realize having them close together was a good choice.

The Holidays around the corner and I am looking foward to them. We are going to take the boys to the pumpkin patch for the 1st time this year and it will be fun to watch them pick out their pumpkins.

The Battle of the Paddle was this past weekend and Rick has been looking foward to it for months. The first Battle of the Paddle was 3 years ago when I was pregnant with Duke. The race has gotten really popular now that paddle boarding has gotten so big-people from all around the world come to compete in it. Rick did awesome and came in 3rd in his age division. Congrats to Rick.....

Here are some pictures from the day.

Rick got 1st Place Overall

Rick and I went to the Hennessey's Paddleboard National Championships Race in Hermosa Beach on July 9th, 2011 and he got 1st place overall in the 3 mile race-he did awesome-so proud of him! He is now in training for the big Battle of the Paddle Race here in Doheny Beach at the end of September-We will all be there cheering for him!!!!

August is here-Fun summer so far!!!

Wow, can't believe I have not written anything since July 4th-the summer has been so busy so far. Jessica my cousin and her 2 kids were here for all of July staying in a beach house in San Clemente and my Aunt Karen was also here for most of the month. Crazy that it is already the middle of August. Rick's friend Matt gets married next weekend and Rick is in the Wedding-it is right here in Laguna Niguel, so it is nice and close.
Duke and Cole are growing and changing everyday. Duke is talking so much and can pretty much repeat anything you say to him. He swims in the pool everyday too and is getting so good-I hope by next summer we can take his puddlejumper life jacket off and he can swim on his own. Rick has been taking him on his paddleboard in the harbor-today they went for 40mins and Duke stayed on the board and they went all around the harbor-checking out the boats and all of the people. Wow, my little man is getting so grown-up-so proud of him.
Cole is crawling, standing and so close to walking-I predict he will be walking before his 1st b-day which is just 3 months away. He is so motivated to start so he can keep up with his big brother. He is mostly on finger foods now and seems to love everything we put in front of him. He chats alot too and him and Duke love hanging out together-it is so cute to watch. I did not think they would have the bond they do this early.

Summer is here....

Hi mom, ready for my close-up

Too cute...

They are looking quite innocent here....haha
A little young for nude sunbathing huh Duke?

End of the day July 4th

My boys...

My little Cole-Cole

The boys-they love playing together

We took Duke to his first Shamu show at Sea World

Daddy and Duke

Passed out on the way there-this is huge since he usually never sleeps in the car

We had a nice July 4th yesterday with Lisa, Paul, and baby Jack...Duke was excited to see another baby and the day was warm and perfect for swimming and BBQ'ing. Can't believe it was Duke's third 4th of July and Cole's first-they both were in bed before the firework show which Rick and I watched from the backyard and had a pretty good view of the firework show at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. Can't wait to take the boys there when they are older.

Cole now has 3 top teeth that are showing and he has been great-he is such a sweetie and has a great personality-he is crawling all over the house, standing on all of the furniture and we can't take our eye off of him for a minute-he is very curious and in to everything just like his big brother. Duke is also doing great and talking and learning new words everyday-he will repeat back anything you say to him and is starting to string several words together at a time. Duke is in the pool everyday and does great in his life jacket and swims all around the pool by himself-one of his favorite new tricks is floating on his stomach. We have even starting getting Cole in the pool more and more and he loves it-both the boys are total water babies which makes their dad very happy.

Jessica is in town with the month renting a beach house in San Clemente so we are taking the boys today to play in the sand and waves.

So far we are having a fun summer and look forward to many more days of fun!
