Duke's 1st Birthday

Duke is 1, it is hard to believe that a year has already gone. We had a great time at his birthday and I think Duke really enjoyed himself and love his cake. At his 1 year visit he was 27 pounds and 31 inches, so he has gained 19 pounds and grown 10 inches in a year, quite impressive. He is a happy baby and is standing, clapping, waving, walking with help, shaking his head no (his favorite), saying mama, dada, and a variety of other things I don't understand. He is very active, curious and wants to explore everything he can. We leave in 2 weeks for Hawaii and can't wait to see what Duke thinks of it.

Uncle John made Duke this adorable chair and it even has his name on it-so cute! It is like he knew it belonged to him from the start.My happy this man!

Well Duke now has teeth 5 and 6 that came in next to his top two. Pretty soon he is going to have a full mouth of them. He also got his first hair cut, I think it was harder on me then him, he is getting so grown up. He did awesome and did not cry or fuss, he was an old pro. I am starting to think about his 1st birthday which is only about month and half away-wow! So that will be fun to plan. He is still standing and pushing chairs around so it is only a matter until he is walking-watch out!

Baby #2 is due on November 10th and we can't wait to find out if we will be having another boy or a girl this time. We should be able to find out in about a month. Whatever we have we just hope he/she is healthy and it will be fun for Duke to have a sibling so close in age.

Duke is now only on finger foods, he loves to feed himself.

Life has been busy and fun since we moved into the new house. Lots of projects going on and Duke is changing everyday. He is standing now for several seconds before he falls, he crawls everywhere and is really fast, he pushes chairs and is into everything! Here are some pictures from the past month.

New House and New Teeth!!!

It has been a very busy month, we move into our new home this weekend..can't wait! It is a great place and there is tons of room and a nice backyard space for Duke to play.

Also, Duke has cut his top two teeth in the past few days, one is out and the other is almost showing. Poor little guy has been in some pain but seems to be doing much better now that they are almost out.

He is all over the place and his new favorite thing to do is to turn off and on the TV, which he figured out how to do a few weeks ago. At the new place we will have the TV up on the wall so he can't reach it. Hard to believe he will be 9 months next week, we will have his 9 month check-up soon and I can't wait to see how much he has grown in the past few months. He has been eating more and more finger foods and some of his favorites so far are bread and cheese (just like mom and dad).

As always he is so cute, has a great personality and gets more fun everyday....We adore him and can't imagine our life without him now.

Duke and Great Aunt Barney

Duke, my mom, and I went over for a visit to Aunt Barney's house this weekend. It was fun to have all the different generations together. Since Duke does not have any living great-grandparents this was a close second and we had a such a nice time.
Thanks again Aunt Barney for having us over, Duke had a great time crawling all around on house ...he loves exploring new areas.

8 Months!!!!

Wow, what a month it has been....Duke was 8 months on Friday and is so fun..he has a great personality and is always on the move now. He is crawling, standing, and getting into everything. He also talks up a storm and his favorite words so far are Dada and Baba...can't wait for him to say mama...He also started eating finger foods, so it is fun to watch him feed himself and I am having a good time finding new foods to have him try.

We have bought our first house in Laguna Niguel and hope to close escrow this week. Can't wait for Duke to have more room to explore and to have a yard where he can play. We hope to move in by March 1st. Rick's Birthday is on February 18th, so it will be a great birthday present for him.
